Streamline your communication with instant messaging from Cinapsis

July 29, 2020

At Cinapsis, we are constantly working to introduce new features which will support healthcare workers in delivering the best possible care for patients.

We know that good care is a result of effective triaging, and that effective triaging depends upon barrier-free communication between Primary and Secondary Care professionals. That’s why, along with our new video calling feature, we are integrating an instant messaging feature to our SmartReferrals app.

It now couldn’t be easier for GPs, paramedics and hospital specialists to share expert opinions on a patient’s condition, decide on the best course of treatment, and action the care plan immediately.

How does it work?

Using a phone or computer with the Cinapsis app installed, users need only to click on the ‘Quick Access’ button and select the name of the Cinapsis user to begin the chat. Images and video can also be shared via the same messenger tool, enabling more accurate and accelerated diagnosis.

Whether a GP needs the opinion of a dermatology specialist before deciding whether to refer a patient to a hospital clinic, or a paramedic wants to know if their patient ought to be brought to A&E, instant messaging will facilitate these conversations in a secure and confidential manner.

If it’s necessary to involve multiple stakeholders in a discussion, the group chat rooms enable teams to share information - bypassing tangled email chains and crossed wires.

Finally, to save even more valuable time and to guarantee transparency, all communication can be instantly uploaded to the patient’s record. This is because patient-related conversations are linked to the patient’s NHS number, and can be exported together with any media attachments.

What about security?

All data held or transmitted via Cinapsis platform is stored encrypted on the Health and Social Care Network (within the NHS) with end-to-end encryption in accordance with NHS guidelines.

The Cinapsis platform is GDPR and DSPT compliant, registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, and meets the highest NHS Digital standards of security and patient confidentiality.
