Our GP's are fully bought into it, and GPs are no longer sending patients to ED with letters in hand. I was recently involved with a patient who went to GP Paxford with a heart issue, and it was fantastic to see the process in action. The GP did the necessary tests, didn’t hesitate, and within 15 minutes had called through on Cinapsis. I was just watching to see how it would play out — and it was seamless.
They matched the patient and referred them to the AMU. When the patient arrived at the hospital, the team said, “Yes, we’re expecting you.” How good is that? The patient only waited a short time in the waiting room before being seen by the consultant. That’s exactly the kind of care you want to see.
We’re also seeing patients being booked forward into clinics like EST's the next day - that sort of joined-up care is just brilliant. It means patients are avoiding long ED waits and getting the right treatment straight away.
